Robert P. Dexter, Chairman and CEO of Maritime Travel Inc., which has 115 travel shops throughout Canada under the trade names “Maritime Travel”, LeGrow’s Travel” with sales in excess of $330 million; President of Brunello Estates (residential land development), Chairman of Canadian International Capital Inc. (owner and manager of immigrant investment funds), Chairman of Wajax Corporation, Director of Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. and High Liner Foods Inc. 

His past business related activities are as follows:  President of Halifax Board of Trade 1993 - 1994; Chairman of 1997 Halifax Metropolitan United Way Campaign; Chairman of the Nova Scotia Small Business Development Corporation 1988 - 1994; Vice-Chairman of the Nova Scotia Business Development Corporation 1992 - 1994; Vice-Chairman of Marlin Travel (Group) Limited 1988 - 1993; President of Halifax Water Tours 1974 - 1991; Director of Lawton's Drug Stores 1990 - 1996, Connor Clark Limited 1989 - 1999, Maritime Life Assurance Company 1993 - 2004, Empire Company and Sobeys Inc.  1987 - 2004, Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund 2006 - 2014, and Chairman of Empire Company Limited and Sobeys Inc. 2004 - 2016.

In addition, Rob is a member of Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, Canadian Barristers' Society and World President's Organization.

 

Glen V. Dexter is President and CEO of CICI and has overall responsibility for its business. He is a graduate of Dalhousie University with two degrees - Bachelor of Science with honours in Physics (gold medallist) and Bachelor of Laws (placing in the top ten). He also obtained a Master of Mathematics from Waterloo University in Ontario. Mr. Dexter, along with two other partners, founded what is now the largest sail manufacturing firm in Nova Scotia. Mr. Dexter practised corporate law for 15 years with the law firm, Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales. Mr. Dexter is also Chairman of Medusa Medical Technologies, Inc., a health care related software company.

In addition Glen is a member of Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and Canadian Barristers' Society. He is also a director and member of the executive of Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation, and a director of the Halifax Region United Way.

 

N. Jane Filbee, C.P.A, CA., is our Treasurer Officer. A gold medal award recipient from Dalhousie University's business school in Halifax, Ms. Filbee also earned the highest mark in the Atlantic Provinces, and the 14th highest mark in Canada, on her qualifying exam for the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Jane is a former employee of Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young.

Her current and past business and community related activities include: National Board Member of Kids Help Phone 1997 to 2002; Board Member of Kids Help Phone Atlantic 1991 to 2002 including Chairman 1998 and 1999; Treasurer of IWK-Grace Health Centre Foundation 1993 to 2000; Treasurer of St. Margaret's Bay Skating Club 1999 to present; Treasurer of St. Margaret's Centre Capital Campaign 2002 to present; member of the Board of Directors of IWK Hospital 2003 to present.

Jane is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia.

 

Christopher G. Somers, LLB, Executive V.P. Immigration, is responsible for matters relating to the immigration operations of CICI and has been with the company over 15 years. He is a former associate of the law firm, Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales. Prior to joining CICI, Christopher was the Atlantic Regional Manager for Montreal Trust Company of Canada specializing in corporate trust services. Christopher has an extensive background in trust services and has overseen the trusteeship of a number of Immigrant Investor programs. Christopher is also a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Prince Edward Island Barristers' Society.

 

Laura J. Quartermain, C.P.A, C.A. , joined CICI as Chief Financial Officer in 2002. After graduating with distinction from Mount Allison University, Laura spent 13 years with Ernst & Young's Entrepreneurial Services practice in Toronto assisting clients in the manufacturing, services and technology sectors, and managing Ontario's Entrepreneur Of The Year program. She then joined Onex Corporation where she served as the Director of Finance for G.W. Schwartz' group of companies, before moving to Halifax.

Laura has been active in the community serving as Treasurer of several charitable organizations. She is also a member of Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia.
